Hiring outline
- Fall 2026: application due October twenty-six, history questionnaire November two, physical/cognitive testing November fourteen. Interest card alone is not completed application; questionnaire required before testing.
- NGLE written exam minimum seventy percent, background, polygraph, psychological, medical/drug screening, oral panel minimum seventy percent and ranked eligibility list. Vacancy-dependent hiring; confirm conditional-offer timing. Full process may take a year.
Physical testing
City obstacle course: up to two attempts, maximum 1:36. Includes jump, wall, low crawl, step repetitions, window, suspect identification, dummy drag and trigger exercise with running between stations. Separate age/sex-based MPOETC sit-ups, three-hundred-meter run, push-ups and 1.5-mile run required for academy admission after hire; do not conflate tests.
