Firefighter preparation questions

Is firefighter membership available yet?

No. Firefighter purchases are not activated yet. Displayed prices are a preview. You can browse the preparation guides, department research and fictional sample feedback without a membership. This preview does not grant trial membership or paid AI access. Existing authorized account and tester access remains available.

Do I need firefighting or paid work experience?

No. Entry-level practice accepts examples from school, sports, volunteering, group projects and everyday life. Independent study is valid preparation; station visits, professional contacts and ride-alongs are optional. You are not expected to know technical fireground or medical procedures.

Do you offer lateral firefighter preparation?

The current firefighter hub is for entry-level applicants. A dedicated lateral firefighter interview pathway is not available yet.

Is every department’s physical test the CPAT?

No. Confirm the exact test in the department’s current hiring notice. CPAT and department-specific physical tests have different requirements; do not substitute one for the other. You can build a general-conditioning program with ordinary home or gym movements in the physical-preparation section. Those workouts support strength and endurance; they do not simulate official CPAT events. The planner does not certify readiness or replace qualified instruction and supervised equipment practice.

Which written test should I prepare for?

Start with the department’s instructions and named testing provider. NTN, PST and department examinations are distinct. Use the current provider’s official guidance and check scores, dates and submission requirements with the department.

What does document assistance do?

You can organize and edit a draft from your own facts. Personalized AI drafting and feedback require eligible account access and consent before sending material. Manual editing does not use AI requests. Keep confidential or sensitive information out of drafts you share for coaching.

Does the directory cover every open position?

No. It is a small researched Washington directory, not a complete statewide list or live vacancy feed. Check the displayed source-review date and the department’s official hiring page before relying on deadlines or eligibility details.

Where is my work saved?

Document and PT account saving is explicit and requires sign-in. The research checklist and practice roadmap save in this browser and do not sync across devices. Review each tool’s storage notice; download any unsaved document draft before leaving it.
