NTN · FireTEAM

NTN describes human relations, mechanical reasoning, reading and math components. Its site also describes a separate Firefighter (Express) exam. Confirm the assigned exam; do not assume the formats are interchangeable.

  1. Read the assigned exam's official description and permitted-material rules. FireTEAM's published math format uses mental calculation.
  2. Review everyday arithmetic and proportions, reading in context, and basic mechanical reasoning. Use only authorized sample material for format practice.
  3. Practice observing a situation and explaining a sound, cooperative response. Complete self-assessments honestly; they are not scripts to memorize.

A study loop you can repeat.

  1. Choose one skill named in your official guide and work through an authorized example slowly.
  2. Explain how you reached the answer. Record whether a mistake came from the concept, reading or time pressure.
  3. Review the weak skill using ordinary reading, math or reasoning exercises. Then try a fresh example.
  4. Add timing only after you understand the task. Follow the actual rules for paper, calculators and online equipment.

This is study guidance, not a scored practice exam or a reproduction of provider questions. Commercial practice products may charge a fee; check the assigned exam before buying.

Complete the whole testing process.

A written score may be only one requirement. Confirm questionnaires, recorded interviews, employer selection, score transfers, separate applications and accommodation deadlines. Answer personal-history and work-style questions honestly.
